millions of people facing food insecurity due to various factors such as
conflict, natural disasters, poverty, and environmental degradation. Here's how
OAIR can address food security in Afghanistan:
1.
Assessing Food Insecurity:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of food insecurity in
target regions, including rural areas and conflict-affected communities.
Identify vulnerable populations, including women, children,
elderly, and internally displaced persons (IDPs), who are most at risk of food
insecurity.
Analyze factors contributing to food insecurity, such as
limited access to food, inadequate dietary diversity, low agricultural
productivity, and market disruptions.

Enhancing Agricultural Productivity:
Support smallholder farmers in improving agricultural
practices, including crop diversification, soil conservation, water management,
and use of climate-resilient crops.
Provide farmers with access to high-quality seeds,
fertilizers, and agricultural inputs to increase crop yields and enhance food

Promote sustainable farming techniques, such as organic
farming and agroecology, to improve soil fertility, conserve natural resources,
and enhance resilience to climate change.

Support income-generating activities and livelihood

and food assistance programs, to support vulnerable households during periods
